Legal & Privacy
Review the terms, policies, and operational structures governing your use of the Novum platform.
Effective Date: June 23, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Novum Platform, including all artist tools, producer tools, dashboards, distribution services, marketplace features, management features, and optional add-ons. By accessing or using Novum, you agree to these Terms.
1. Platform Identity
Novum is a youth-run Management and Marketplace Platform. Novum provides operational support, distribution tools, publishing metadata delivery, beat marketplace access, branding guidance, and optional website services.
Novum is not a record label, legal publisher, talent agency, or legal representative. Novum does not negotiate contracts, provide legal advice, or represent users in legal disputes.
2. Eligibility
Users under 18 must have parental or guardian permission to use Novum.
Novum may deny or revoke access to any user who violates platform rules, provides incorrect information, or fails to meet eligibility requirements.
3. Content Ownership
All artists and producers retain full ownership of their masters, compositions, beats, and uploaded content.
By uploading content, you grant Novum a non-exclusive, revocable license to host, distribute, promote, and deliver your content through the platform.
Novum does not claim ownership of any user-generated content.
4. Publishing and Metadata
Novum may appear as the "Publisher" on DSP metadata for organizational or platform purposes. This does not create a legal publishing relationship.
Novum does not:
- Assume ownership of your publishing
- Collect publishing royalties directly
Novum provides tools and support to assist users with publishing rights negotiation and management as part of its management platform features. While Novum will actively intervene and assist in negotiations and disputes, it does not act as a legal publisher or assume legal responsibility for publishing rights.
All publishing rights remain with the original creator. Legal liability for disputes ultimately rests with the artist or producer.
Novum may also assist users with court preparation, including drafting statements on their behalf (e.g., "From his/her managers, Novum acts as a management platform"), but this does not constitute legal representation or responsibility.
5. Distribution
Novum distributes music to digital service providers (DSPs). Novum does not guarantee playlist placement, editorial acceptance, algorithmic performance, or DSP-specific outcomes.
Users are responsible for ensuring their content does not infringe on copyrights or violate DSP policies.
Novum may remove content that violates copyright law or platform rules.
6. Stream-Limit Rules for Artist Plans
Underground is available only to artists with under 50,000 monthly listeners. Underground+ is available only to artists with under 100,000 monthly listeners. Novum+ yearly plans have no stream limits.
Novum may request proof of listener count and may suspend or upgrade accounts that exceed limits.
7. Artist Plans and Royalties
Underground and Underground+ allow artists to keep 100% of royalties unless otherwise stated.
Novum+ yearly plans (Believer, Mainstream, Mainstream+) include 100% royalties and expanded management features.
Artist dashboards remain locked until a plan is selected and paid for inside the dashboard. Activation typically takes 24-48 hours, and users will be notified by email when unlocked.
8. Producer Plans and Revenue Splits
Base producers keep 80% of beat sales. Producer+ producers keep 85%. Producer Pro Air producers keep 95%. Producer Pro producers keep 100%.
Producer dashboards are automatically set to the Base plan. Upgrades occur inside the dashboard and typically activate within 24-48 hours.
9. Marketplace Rules
Producers must ensure all beats, samples, and compositions are original or properly licensed.
Novum is not responsible for disputes between buyers and producers.
Novum may remove content that violates copyright law, platform rules, or DSP requirements.
10. Service Fee Policy
Novum covers all processing and service fees for customers. Buyers pay exactly the listed beat price.
Novum may treat covered fees as operational expenses or deductions.
11. Management Services
Management services provided through Novum plans include branding guidance, strategy meetings, audits, release planning, and optional mixing or production assistance.
These services are operational and advisory only. Novum does not act as a legal manager, agent, or representative.
12. Novum Partner and Paid Partner
Novum Partner is a platform status that provides enhanced visibility, priority review, and access to additional tools. It does not create a legal label relationship.
Paid Partner is an elevated support tier available primarily through Mainstream+. Paid Partner includes label-like operational support such as branding, production, distribution assistance, and release planning.
Paid Partner status does not create a legal label contract. Novum does not represent users in court or legal disputes.
13. Evidence and Documentation Support
Novum may assist users by providing metadata, timestamps, logs, distribution records, publishing information, and other documentation related to their content.
This support is informational only and does not constitute legal representation. Users are responsible for securing their own legal counsel.
14. Website Add-On
Novum offers an optional website service for eligible Pro Producers and Novum+ Artists. Novum may cover domain and hosting costs and may provide custom code or templates.
This service is operational only and does not create a legal design contract or agency relationship.
15. Refund Policy
Unauthorized purchases by minors may result in partial or full refunds at Novum's discretion. Refunds may require removal of distributed content.
Producers who have already been paid for beat sales are not required to return earnings.
16. Account Termination
Novum may suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate platform rules
- Upload infringing content
- Misuse services
- Provide false information
- Engage in misconduct
Users may request account deletion at any time.
17. Limitation of Liability
Novum is not responsible for:
- Copyright disputes
- User-to-user conflicts
- DSP decisions
- Lost revenue
- Legal damages
- Third-party actions
- Platform downtime
Novum provides tools and services "as-is" without guarantees.
18. Changes to Terms
Novum may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
19. Publisher Appearance and Responsibility Limitation
Novum may appear as the "Publisher" on DSP metadata for organizational, branding, or platform purposes. This appearance does not create a legal publishing relationship and does not transfer ownership or liability to Novum.
Artists and producers are fully responsible for ensuring that their content complies with all copyright laws, licensing requirements, and platform rules. If an artist or producer violates DSP terms, copyright law, or third-party rights, Novum assumes no responsibility for the violation.
Novum assists artists and producers with publishing rights negotiation and management as part of its management platform features. Artists receive their share of royalties after third-party processing. Memberships and payments are typically processed through Stripe, and Novum may collect payment or payout data through services like Cash App or similar platforms.
20. Legal Disputes and Documentation Support
If a legal dispute arises involving content distributed or uploaded through Novum, Novum may provide the following forms of support:
- Metadata records
- Timestamps and upload logs

- Provide legal advice
- Act as an attorney or agent
Users are responsible for securing their own legal counsel.
21. Management Platform Role
Novum may provide management-style operational support, including branding guidance, strategy assistance, release planning, and general career development. These services are advisory and operational only.
Novum does not act as a legal manager, legal representative, or agent.
